The Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE reports in its regional Kainuu news that E.ON’s all Finnish operations will be integrated into one organization.
The headquarters of the new organization is located in Kajaani, where the operative management is transferred. The new CEO of E.ON Finland, Markku Ryymin, says the integration brings new jobs. Mr Ryymin has previously worked as Kainuun Energia’s manager. According to Markku Ryymin, some new jobs have already been created during the beginning of the year.
As a part of the organizational change, Kainuu Energia gets a new name and is to be E.ON Kainuu. The distribution company Kainuun Sähköverkko, in turn, will become E.ON Kainuun Sähköverkko. The ownership structures remain the same: Kajaani city has a share of 37.5 per cent, municipality of Sotkamo 12 per cent and E.ON Sverige 50.5 per cent.
E.ON Finland has some 100.000 customers. The share of E.ON Kainuu of this is some 60.000. The customer amount has increased considerably this year: by some 30.000 customers.
E.ON is the world’s biggest private energy company and the second biggest nuclear power company in Europe, and advantages of this are streched into Kainuu as well, says E.ON Nordic’s manager Matti Manninen. Mr Manninen states that E.ON is developing new energy production sources, including renewable sources, and as a group the company is investing more than EUR 1 billion in this development during the next three years. For example in Kainuu, there is wind metering going on. The results will be ready next spring. Manninen says that depending on the results the Kainuu distribution network area could be a natural choice for operations.
