The Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE reports that the land use planning for the possible construction of a nuclear power plant in Simo are being finalized. The municipality is processing the nuclear power plant local master and detailed land use plans on Wednesday.

Simo’s municipal manager Esko Tavia says that the propositions for the new land plans were published for the public in summer and only a few complaints were filed. According to Mr Tavia, some changes were made to the land plans after this.

The final decision on the land plans will be made by the Simo municipal council on September 20.
