The Finnish Broadcasting Company YLE reports that according to the EU chairman country Hungary, the stress tests for nuclear power plants in the EU will start in June.

The purpose of the tests is to ensure that an accident of the kind that happened in Fukushima is not possible in the EU.

EU’s energy commissioner Gunther Oettinger states in a press release published by Hungary that the detailed scope of the tests is to be defined next week.
