The environmental footprint of nuclear power is small

Fifth reason to like nuclear power

A nuclear power plant generates a large amount of energy in a relatively small area. If the amount of energy produced with biomass, it would require millions of hectares of forest reserved for energy production alone at Finland’s latitudes. And burning biomass is by no means clearly emission-free. Wind power and solar energy also require dozens – even hundreds – of times more space, as they utilize weak energy systems.
